PixelCamp is designed for children ages 8-16 who are interested in learning coding and game development. We offer different difficulty levels to accommodate various age groups and skill levels. Our beginner courses are perfect for younger children (8-11), while our intermediate and advanced courses engage older students (12-16) with more complex concepts.

No prior experience is required! Our curriculum starts with the basics and gradually introduces more complex concepts as children progress through the program. We've designed our lessons to be accessible to complete beginners while still challenging those with some coding experience.

Children will learn fundamental programming concepts, game design principles, problem-solving skills, and how to create their own interactive games and applications. Our curriculum covers variables, loops, conditions, functions, graphics, animation, sound effects, user interaction, and basic physics. Beyond coding, they'll develop critical thinking, creativity, and digital literacy skills that are valuable in today's technology-driven world.

A computer with internet access is all that's needed. Our platform works on most modern browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge), and no additional software installation is required. We recommend a desktop or laptop computer rather than a tablet for the best experience. A mouse is also helpful for some of the more detailed game design activities.

We recommend 2-3 hours per week, but children can progress at their own pace. Each module contains approximately 6-12 lessons that can be completed over several weeks. Our 5-day intensive program requires approximately 3-4 hours per day. Many children enjoy working on their projects outside of structured lesson time, and we encourage this exploration!

Yes! Parents receive regular progress updates and can access a dashboard showing completed lessons, earned badges, and projects created. You'll be able to view your child's completed projects, see which skills they've mastered, and identify areas where they might need additional support. We also provide parent-specific resources to help you understand what your child is learning.

PixelCamp focuses on learning through game creation, which keeps children engaged and motivated. Our project-based approach means kids create something meaningful in every session, rather than just completing abstract exercises. We also emphasize creativity alongside technical skills, encouraging children to express themselves through their games and applications. Our instructors are experienced educators with backgrounds in both computer science and child development.

Absolutely! After completing the program, children have lifetime access to their projects and our base-level resources. We offer monthly coding challenges, community showcases, and optional advanced modules for continued learning. For those who want more structured ongoing education, we offer PixelCamp Club, a subscription-based program with weekly new content and mentor support.
